Quick & Creamy Fry Sauce

Once you’ve had fry sauce with your fries, there’s no going back! It takes your fries to the next level. The best part is that you don’t need to visit a restaurant to enjoy it, because this recipe comes together in minutes with just a few pantry staples.

I make it all the time for burger nights or quick after-school snacks, and my family absolutely devours it. It’s the best way to turn ordinary fries into something extraordinary. Give this recipe a try, and you’ll never want to eat fries without it again!

Ingredients

You only need four simple ingredients to make this fry sauce.

  • 2 cups Duke’s real mayonnaise – The creamy base of the sauce. While Duke’s mayonnaise is my brand of choice, you can use any full-fat mayonnaise brand that you have on hand.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder – Adds a savory onion flavor without altering the texture of the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – Adds a subtle garlic warmth that balances the sweetness of the ketchup.
  • ⅓ cup ketchup – The ketchup gives the sauce its signature pink color and adds a touch of sweetness. Use BBQ sauce for a smoky variation on the sauce.

How To Make Fry Sauce

Just whisk together the ingredients and serve. Let me show you how.

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Serve right away or chill for 30 minutes to allow the flavor to deepen.

Recipe Tip

Use good-quality mayo. It’s the main ingredient, so a flavorful, creamy one like Duke’s makes a big difference.

Let it chill. This is optional, but even 15–30 minutes in the fridge helps the flavors meld beautifully.

Taste and tweak. Everyone likes their fry sauce a little different. Want it spicier? Add a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne. Like it tangier? Add a little pickle or relish juice.
