Make Sonic’s Ocean Water with Just 4 Ingredients

If you’ve ordered the Ocean Water drink at Sonic, you know how refreshing it is. It has a fun tropical twist with the coconut syrup. I love how easy it is to make with just a few simple ingredients. Now you can have your happy hour at home anytime you want!

Ingredients

You only need four ingredients to make this drink.

  • 4 cups pebble ice: Keeps the drink super cold with the signature pebble ice texture. Crush regular ice in a blender if you do not have pebble ice.
  • 1 can of Sprite: Use any type of lemon-lime soda, such as 7-Up or Starry to get the same citrus base for the drink.
  • 4 Tablespoons coconut syrup: Adds a tropical flair to the drink.
  • 2 drops of blue food coloring: Gives the drink its signature blue color. You can leave the food coloring out if you’d like.

Recipe Tips

Pebble Ice Hack: This drink requires pebble ice, but don’t worry if you don’t have any. You can easily make your own by blending regular ice or wrapping it in a towel and giving it a few gentle taps with a rolling pin.

Chill your Sprite. This helps keep the drink colder longer and reduces ice melt, making the best cold drink ever!

Sonic Ocean Water Copycat Recipe FAQs

What kind of coconut syrup should I use?

I prefer to use Torani syrup, but any brand will work. You can find it in the coffee section at the grocery store. Or, of course, on Amazon.

Can I make a large batch for a party?

Yes. Just multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you need and combine them in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Wait to add the ice just before serving.
