Combine ground beef, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, garlic, and 2 tablespoons of sauce in a large bowl.
Score the meat mixture into 4 equal sections, then form patties with each quarter.
Heat a non-stick skillet on medium heat and add the burger patties.
Cook for 3 minutes on each side.
Add ½ cup of sauce to pan around the burgers.
Top each burger with a slice of cheese and 3 pepperoni slices.
Cover and cook for another minute or until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese has melted.
While the burgers are finishing, toast the buns if desired.
Add a burger to a bun, top with additional sauce, and add fresh basil if desired.
