Equipment

  • Dash Waffle Maker
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 120g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp fine salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup 180ml buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • ½ tsp vanilla or almond extract

Optional add-ins:

  • mini chocolate chips
  • blueberries
  • pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat & Prep:

  • Plug in your Dash mini waffle maker to preheat. It should take about 2–3 minutes.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Mix Wet Ingredients:

  • In a separate small bowl or liquid measuring cup, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla or almond extract.

Combine:

  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix! A few lumps are okay. If you're adding extras (like chocolate chips), fold them in now.

Cook the Waffles:

  • Lightly spray the waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray. Add about 3 tablespoons of batter to the center of the waffle maker. Close the lid and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until golden brown.

Repeat & Serve:

  • Remove the waffle carefully with a fork or silicone spatula. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve warm with butter, syrup, whipped cream, fruit, or even use them for breakfast sandwiches!

Notes

Make-Ahead & Storage: These waffles freeze beautifully. Let them cool completely, then freeze in a single layer. Reheat in a toaster or oven until crisp.
